Coconut Affogato

Heavenly.

Affogato is so hot right now!  Or rather, it’s so delightfully cool. At Michael’s Santa Monica, we’ve dressed up this traditional Italian dessert with the sumptuous flavor of coconut. We pour a shot of fresh, hot espresso over delicious housemade coconut ice cream (affogato means “drowned” in Italian), and then add a dusting of toasted coconut and brown-butter breadcrumbs. For a final, sumptuous touch, we drizzle a deep, rich caramel sauce over the top. You’ve got to try this one!
