Burrata, Serrano Ham, and Arugula

May 4, 2012

Pretty, don’t you think? And pretty tasty, too.

Everyone is gaga these days for burrata, that creamy cousin of fresh mozzarella. So we at Michael’s Santa Monica wanted to create an ode to this incredible cheese befitting its exalted stature. We serve superbly fresh and rich Gioia burrata with imported Serrano ham and baby wild arugula from the Santa Monica Farmers’ Market. Parmigiano-Reggiano provides that hit of salty, nutty bite that perfectly complements the cheese and ham; and a lemon vinaigrette, tossed with the delicate leaves, brings the whole plate together.
