Eat Some Modern Art: Our Salmon

Often, we like to get creative with our presentations, especially since the visual element is so vitally important to the overall dining experience. Sight is the first sense with which we engage the food we eat, so a beautiful presentation always enhances the pleasure food delivers. With that in mind, executive chef Mikey Stern and his crew in the kitchen at Michael’s Santa Monica have created this modern, graphic presentation for our delicious, Indian-spiced wild striped bass. Two slashes of  brown butter squash puree provide a dramatic counterpoint to the white plate and the crisp, golden salmon skin. Wild mushrooms bring an earthiness to the dish and complement the sweet squash puree. Finally, the plate is garnished with curry oil and dark-purple micro greens. The result is as exciting to eat as it to look at. So come on in and give all your senses—sight, smell, sound, touch, and taste—an engagingly delicious experience.
