We’re Celebrating National Museum Day—and So Can You!

September 23, 2010

In honor of National Museum Day this Saturday, September 25th, Michael’s—in both its Santa Monica and New York restaurants—is offering a free dessert of your choice for the table for anyone who presents a ticket from one of the museums participating in National Museum Day.  We’ll offer this during dinner only (after all, you’re going to be at the museum during the day!) on Saturday, September 25th. As restaurants that have always combined the best of fresh, seasonal American cooking with the best of contemporary art, we are thrilled to be doing something special for our guests on this day that celebrates some of our favorite places in New York and LA!

Among the many participating  museums across the nation are:

Santa Monica Museum of Art

The Getty Center (Los Angeles)

The Getty Villa (Malibu)

MOCA (Los Angeles)

New Museum (New York)

Check out the Museum Day Site for more information and a full list of participating museums!

Just think: a Saturday in New York, downtown during the day at the New Museum, followed by dinner with us—concluding with one of our beautiful desserts, like a coconut ice cream and chocolate wafer sandwich with macadamia brittle or our toasted almond panna cotta with raspberry ice cream (browse our whole dessert menu here).  Or if you’re a West Coaster, how about the Santa Monica Museum of Art, which is filled with the work of local artists, followed by dinner in our garden patio (it’s heated!)—and perusing our own gallery—then on to dessert! Try our warm brown butter tart filled with a bounty of fruit from the Santa Monica’s Farmers’ Market, or Valrhona chocolate cake with crème fraîche ice cream (see the full menu here).  Looking forward to seeing you!

Our over-the-top delicious ice cream sandwich in NYC!
