Blackberry Torte

Fresh mint leaves, lemon jus, mint oil, and blackberry "leather" garnish this delicious torte.

Amanda Moreno, our fabulous pastry chef at Michael’s New York, has created this dessert all about fresh seasonal blackberries. She enrobes fresh farmers’ market berries in a cornmeal batter with a fresh ginger-and-oat crumble topping. Blackberry leather (like you used to eat as a kid, only made in our kitchen and a million times more delicious) curls over the top. Vanilla frozen yogurt and fresh mint leaves are the final flourishes, along with a reduced lemon jus and mint oil. Dig in and taste the bright, fresh flavors of the season’s bounty.
