Blood Orange Mimosas

It’s in the air! Maybe it’s the sunlight streaming in through our window on 55th St. in Manhattan or the breeze fluttering through the trees outside on our patio in Santa Monica, but we have been craving Blood Orange Mimosas.  To replicate these at home, pour 2 ounces of freshly squeezed blood orange juice into a Champagne flute and top with bubbling Prosecco. Toast your friends and enjoy! And note that fragrant blood oranges come in paler and deeper red varieties. Some yield juice that looks like a deeper, slightly blushing shade of regular orange juice.  Other blood oranges yield deep red juice that really lives up to the name, as visible the accompanying photo.

We recommend sitting outside on the patio of Michael’s Santa Monica during the consumption of these beautiful drinks and enjoying as an early evening or late morning slips away in the sanctuary of our garden.
