Summer Heirloom Tomatoes and Burrata

Ooey gooey burrata, oh my!

Heirloom tomatoes are one of the greatest summertime delights from the farmers’ market. Right now, growers’ stalls are filled with a gorgeous variety of these colorful, sweet, juicy gems. At Michael’s Santa Monica, we choose the most flavorful, beautiful heirloom varieties to serve alongside superb burrata (basically, fresh mozzarella filled with cream). We season simply with sea salt, freshly ground black pepper, and extra-virgin olive oil. The final touches: a drizzle of aged balsamic vinegar and a scattered chiffonade of fresh basil. This is fresh summer eating at its finest. Dig in!
